The Friends of St Georges Brede

The Friends of St George’s was set up in 1992, to create an endowment fund, only the interest from which may be used to help meet the costs of repairing, maintaining, and improving the church. Since 1992 the Friends have contributed £55,000 towards various projects, the most recent being the repairs to the south porch.

The Friends hold at least four popular fund-raising events each year. However, a significant proportion of the income comes from the generosity of members. Some of the Friends are regular church-goers, but many are people who value their local heritage and are proud to keep it in good order. The chief benefit is the satisfaction of having contributed to a worthwhile cause. To become a Friend you just need to make a regular donation; the amount is up to you! Many Friends make a regular payment by standing order.
