New Rector for St George’s

A message from Francesca
Hello everyone in Brede, Udimore, Beckley and Peasmarsh.
I am absolutely delighted to be your new Rector and I’m so looking forward to joining you all in due course and getting to know you.
I thought I would tell you a little about me.
I grew up in Kent, near Tonbridge, and I came to faith as a teenager after deciding to pick up the bible and have a go at praying! I studied Classics at Oxford, then, after spending a year as a church intern in Hackney, East London, I studied for ordination at the College of the Resurrection in Mirfield, West Yorkshire.
For the past three/four years I have ministered as Assistant Curate in St George’s and Holy Trinity, Wolverton, at the northern end of Milton Keynes, where I have really enjoyed getting involved in the local community.
I have been a Public Governor for Milton Keynes University Hospital, have worked closely with the Town Council at Civic events and have had experience as a School Governor at the local Infant School and have really enjoyed working with all the local schools in many different ways.
Outside of the ministry, I have a strong passion for singing and choral music and have sung in the Chamber Choir Polymnia in Milton Keynes and the Arcadian Singers in Oxford.
I also love nature and going for walks and hikes with my husband, Hugh, who is also a priest, and we both love Onyx, who is our very fluffy cat.
I am really looking forward to meeting you all, getting to know you and working together to serve Our Lord in our community.
